Airways Inflammation Group (AIRG)

The Airways Inflammation Group at UCalgary's Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases is involved in numerous research areas targeting aspects of Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease (COPD) for which current therapies are less than ideal.

Microbial Research Group (MRG)

The Microbial Research Group (MRG) is a research and educational group in the Emerging Infectious Disease theme of the Institute of Infection, Immunity and Inflammation at UCalgary's Snyder Institute. The MRG is comprised of scientists whose teams work to understand molecular mechanisms of bacterial diseases and develop vaccines or therapeutic targets for disease intervention.

Immunology Research Group (IRG)

The vision of the IRG research group at UCalgary's Snyder Institute is to enrich society through discoveries in immunology. Our goal is to create a vigorous and dynamic research community that provides outstanding training to the next generation of immunology researchers.

Inflammation Research Network (IRN)

The Inflammation Research Network (IRN) is a group of basic and clinical investigators at UCalgary's Snyder Institute at the Cumming School of Medicine and in the Faculty of Science. The group spans a number of disciplines and covers all aspects of molecular to clinical research, all with a common focus on inflammatory disease.

Precision Medicine in Nephrology Program

The Precision Medicine in Nephrology Research Program (PMNP) is comprised of researchers and clinicians at the Snyder Institute, Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary who share common interests in understanding the molecular and genetic mechanisms of kidney disease to define disease specific biomarkers, develop advanced diagnostic testing and targeted treatments for patients with kidney disease.

Gastrointestinal Research Group (GIRG)

The Gastrointestinal Research Group (GIRG) at UCalgary's Snyder Institute is a multi-disciplinary group comprised of 34 faculty members from various basic science and clinical departments in the Cumming School of Medicine, which include the Departments of Microbiology, Immunology & Infectious Diseases, Physiology & Pharmacology, Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Medicine and Community Health Sciences, as well as the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

The members of GIRG are involved with both basic science (bench laboratory), translational and clinical research related to all aspects of Gastrointestinal and Liver Health.
