Postdocs and Research Associates Seminar Series

As part of the series of events on professional development and education for member within the Snyder Institute, the Snyder Institute Trainee Committee (SITC) is organizing a seminar series dedicated to Postdocs and Research Associates seeking an opportunity to present their research or improve their teaching skills by giving a chalk talk for the Snyder community. The seminars will take place monthly.

Snyder Summer Student Research Day 2024

Snyder Summer Student Research Day will be held in-person on Tuesday, August 20th, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM in Theatre One and the HRIC Atrium. The event will feature a whole day of science, social, and networking activities and prizes for attendees and presenters. All Snyder members are encouraged to join and support the 2024 Snyder undergraduate researchers!

Abstract submission is now open, and the abstract submission deadline is August 1st. For more information about the abstract guidelines, please see below. 

Abstract Guidelines:

  • Students should prepare a 250-word abstract of their summer research (data to date) that include the following subsections: title, background, methodology, results and conclusions/significance. Abstracts should include a clearly stated hypothesis or research question. Please note that the 250-word limit does not include the abstract title or subsection titles.
  • At the time of submission, please fill out the submission form to include your primary mentor/PI, any co-authors, research keywords and whether you would like to be considered for an oral presentation.
  • We highly recommend you speak with your mentor/PI for support with writing your abstract.

We ask that those planning to attend register for the event by August 13th

 

Snyder Institute Trainee Research Day 2023

Trainee Research Day

This year we will be hosting the 2023 December Trainee Research Day in-person on Wednesday, December 6th, from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM in Theatre 3 and the HRIC atrium. The event will feature oral presentations from Snyder students, chalk talks from Snyder postdocs as well as a trainee poster session.

The trainee research day will be followed by the Snyder Holiday Party, commencing at 3:00 PM.
