Call for Abstracts
Abstract submission deadline is May 31st, 2023.

All abstracts must follow the instructions listed below and be submitted online by May 31st, 2023. Please note that abstracts will only be accepted if the presenting author has registered for the conference. Conference abstracts will not be published and will only be available to the conference delegates.
Abstract Submission Details
- All abstracts to be submitted as a Microsoft Word file (.doc, .docx)
- Abstracts must not exceed 250-300 words (excluding the title, authors, affiliations and funding acknowledgments) and must fit on a single page.
- Font: Calibri, 11 point.
- Margins should be set at 2 cm.
- The title should be in capital letters
- Affiliations are to be listed on the next line and centered on the page.
- Authors must be separated by a comma and the presenting author in bold font and underlined
- Do not indent the first line of a paragraph. Leave one blank line between paragraphs and before new section headings.
- Funding bodies must be acknowledged at the end of the abstract.
- TRAINEES: If the abstract is being presented by a trainee (i.e., Undergraduate student, MSc student, PhD student or Postdoctoral Fellow), please clearly indicate that at the bottom of the abstract on a separate line and they will be considered for trainee oral presentations and poster prizes.
- For an abstract to be formally accepted, and included in the program, the presenting author must be registered to attend the Conference.
Structure
- Abstracts must contain 4 sections each with a heading in Bold font: Aims, Methods, Results and Conclusions.
- Methods should be kept brief.
- Results should not be vague and must contain unpublished data.
- Figures can be inserted, as can tables, as long as they are within the size of the abstract (must fit on one 8 1/2" x 11" page).
Submit Your Abstract
Email your abstract to the Conference Assistant, Ms. Judy Wong - judwong@ucalgary.ca
Posters
- Your poster cannot be larger than 1.5 m (5 ft) wide and 1.2 m (4 ft tall).
- Use a font size that allows the poster to be read from a distance of ~1.5 m.
- Ensure that figures and graphs are easy to interpret (i.e. not too complicated).
Trainee Talks/Posters
Selected abstracts from trainees will be chosen for presentation as part of the program and the presenters will receive an award. Note that presenters of these talks will also present a poster and so enjoy the benefits of the direct interactions with conference participants. They will not be considered eligible for the poster prizes that will be awarded as part of the poster session.
