Research Activities

I study pulmonary fibrosis, also termed interstitial lung disease (ILD). My specific interests focus on understanding the relationships between inhaled occupational and environmental exposures and specific forms of ILD. To understand these relationships, we must also characterize the genetic risk for disease. For these reasons, I aim to establish a biomarker registry for our ILD patients, to study the genetic, genomic, proteomic, epigenomic, and microbiological aspects of disease.
