V.131 Release Notes

The UCalgary Web System released V.131 last night. Please take a moment to review the release notes for a summary of the latest updates.

What’s Fixed? 

Bugs and issues resolved in the latest release.  

  • Addressed missing “Page Filter Tags” dropdown for Content Editor, Content Administrator and Site Administrator roles when editing basic pages. 
  • Resolved array key error when fetching LiveWhale groups.
  • Added missing “view unpublished content” permission for the read-only role. 
  • Resolved outdated cache handling on node deletion by updating cache tags.
  • Replaced unreliable “displayName” field with “givenName” and “surname” in profile queries to ensure accurate name updates from PeopleSoft.
  • Corrected missing webform submission results on arts.ucalgary.ca. 

 

What’s New? 

New features, block enhancements, and system updates from the latest release.   

  • Changed file_mdm logging level for missing files from “error” to “none” to reduce log clutter, especially in preprod.
  • Updated calendar scheduling test to use a general selector instead of a hardcoded ID. 

 

Other items from this sprint  

  • Automated test fixes and improvements. 
  • Added Update Manager to post-deploy script to ensure its disabled in production. 

 

In Progress 

Work that is currently in progress and will be included in an upcoming release.  

Fixes  

  • Fixing menu duplication when parent and child items share the same name during content migration.
  • Continue addressing content migration gaps, including missing blocks, partial streaming media issues, and unresolved taxonomy term transfers for page filter tags.
  • Resolve outstanding CSS/JS aggregation issues, specifically Masonry block image viewer problems.
  • Investigating where Instagram link won’t display in pre-footer unless LinkedIn URL is filled; order-dependent issue affecting social media icon visibility.
  • Broken links in the News Feed block that currently return 404 errors. 
  • Error when creating a content type due to missing sitemap function.  

Enhancements

  • PHP Code Cleanup.
  • Generate reports on block layout menus, teams, users, and pages for cleanup.
  • Add CSV export to Content and User pages.
  • Switch the News Feed from RSS to REST API.
  • Implement SSO to LiveWhale. 
  • Updating to Drupal 10.4.6. 

Other 

  • Conduct an audit of the existing Custom Code blocks in use on live-ucalgary.
