V.128 Release Notes

Last night we released V.128 of the UCalgary Web System. Please take a moment to review the release notes to see the updates included in the latest release.

What’s Fixed? 

Bugs and issues resolved in the latest release.  

  • Menus with multiple pages of results were not listed alphabetically. 

  • Thumbnail block appeared squished or stretched. 

  • Hero CTA block experienced missing CSS and limitations on uploading images exceeding a certain size. 

  • Supervisors with the Content Editor role were unable to publish their own supervisor profiles.  

  • PHP error that caused "An unexpected error happened" when editing pages.  

  • Webform styling issue when trying to submit an empty form containing required fields

  • 'In The News' pre-headings (H5) on news landing pages was incorrectly styled, and the search button was misaligned. 

  • Display issue with the Marketo block dropdown where list displayed incorrectly on pages.  

  • JavaScript load-order error affecting certain webforms, such as the Sidekick CTA Feedback Survey, which generated console errors post-D10 deployment. 

  • Issue where admin-specific Layout Builder CSS was being served to all users.  

  • Cloned node was not properly linked after the original node was deleted. 

 

What’s New? 

New features, block enhancements, and system updates from the latest release.   

  • Addressed the inability to translate the "showing 1 of X entries" text at the bottom of tables on pages to improve multilingual user experience.  

  • Allow site admins with Supervisor Admin privileges to manage role provisioning within their team. 

  • Removal of orphaned blocks while preserving necessary content. 

 

Other items from this sprint 

  • Automated tests fixes and improvements  

  • Resolved the PHP Unit pipeline failure that occurred after the Drupal 10.2 upgrade. 

 

In Progress 

Work that is currently in progress and will be included in an upcoming release.  

Fixes 

  •   Issue with the News Feed block caching system. 

  • Hero CTA block images exceeding the size limit are not displaying correctly due to CSS issues. 

  • Blocks are not filtering profiles as intended, causing confusion and inability to display precise profile lists. 

  • Profile user taxonomy not being created and preventing impacted profiles from appearing in profile listings. 

  • 404 errors when trying to view some inline profiles 

  • The "Page Filter Tags" dropdown is missing under the "Edit" section in Basic pages for users with the Content Editor + Content Administrator and Site Administrator roles. 

  • When clicked, Masonry Block doesn’t display the image properly. 

  • Cloning a page that contains reusable blocks results in multiple copies of the same block.  

  • Errors when attempting to edit blocks in the Gin Modal. 

  • Authoring issues in the Dynamic News Feed page. 

  • Accordion block editing interface on smaller devices has layout constraints. 

  • On LiveWhale registrants receive an error message when attempting to cancel their registration via the email link. 

 

Enhancements  

  • Profiles <> People data integration  

  • Profiles help text update to align with people data integration. 

  • Update guidance for users on how to update their locked First and Last name fields. 

  • Run to rebuild new README files for specific modules. 

 

Other 

  • Automated tests fixes and improvements 

  • Address the need for managing theme changes across multiple sites more efficiently. 

  • Update label in toolbox and link for URL for HR changing to “People & Culture”
