In 2013, David Werklund donated a $25 million gift to the University of Calgary, transforming the former education faculty into the newly named Werklund School of Education. At the time, it was the largest single gift to a Canadian faculty of education. Since then this generous donation has supported the students, faculty and research, in empowering identities, transforming teaching, and changing societies, across Alberta and beyond.
This fall, the school invited David Werklund to engage with some of our current students at the “Empowering Leadership in Education: A Conversation with David Werklund” event. The slides below include a few of the questions students submitted earlier in the semester and the insight Werklund had to offer.
