The Live Cell Imaging (LCI) Facility is a centralized resource that provides researchers with access to state-of-the-art microscopes and expert advice. In addition, researchers can work with a variety of live-cell systems.  Experienced staff is on hand to maintain and troubleshoot the equipment as well as to train, assist and advise users.

The techniques supported include  histology, digital deconvolution, laser scanning confocal, spinning disk confocal and multiphoton imaging.  An image analysis suite with three high-end workstations is also available. 

The LCI is headed by the Executive Director, Dr. Kamala Patel.  The in vivo operations are directed by Dr. Donna-Marie McCafferty. The day-to-day operations of the Facility are managed by the Scientific Director, Dr. Pina Colarusso, with the assistance of optical imaging specialists Jen Amon (in vitro) and Dr. Kasia Stevens (in vivo).  The facility team is supported part-time by Evelyn Lailey (cell culture areas and facility administrative support) and several undegraduate laboratory assistants, Jason Abboud, Jennifer Roycroft, and Darius Clinton (IT technician).
